Mauricio is a master’s student in Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) in Colombia. He is also a researcher at the Research Group on Electrical Power Systems (GISEL), also at UIS. His master’s research is on the real-time simulation of grid-connected wind generator control using the hardware-in-the-loop approach. He is currently engaged in a research internship at MORE Lab. His research internship focuses on developing a global multi-objective optimization model for the combined economic and environmental dispatch of electric power. Mauricio’s research interests include power electronics, control systems, optimization algorithms, real-time simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop technology.
